Mission, Vision & Values We believe that all doors are open and that God enables his Body to go into all the world and preach the Gospel.
Our Mission Statement
Strengthening the Body of Christ living under restriction or persecution by providing and delivering Bibles, materials, training and other helps, and encouraging the Body to become involved in world evangelism.
Training and encouraging the Body of Christ in threatened or unstable areas, preparing believers to face persecution and suffering, and equipping them to maintain a witness to the Gospel of Christ.
- Motivating, mobilising and educating the Church in the free world to identify with and become more involved in assisting the Persecuted Church, with the belief that "when one member suffers, all members suffer with it" (1 Corinthians 12:26).
Our Core Values
- We are part of the Body of Christ - a people to people people
- We are Persecuted Church driven
- We are people of the Bible
- We are people of prayer
- We live and work by faith
- We are devoted to Jesus Christ and His commission
- We are motivated solely for the glory of God
Taking the Word
Sanctify them in truth; Your Word is Truth - John 17:17
Many Christians living in restricted and unstable areas of the world have never owned a personal copy of the Bible. We believe in the life-changing character of the Word, and seek to meet this need.
Sharing the Word
In addition to the shortage of Bibles, there is also a lack of knowledge about biblical teaching and principles. We believe in leadership training from Christ-centred study material to equip leaders and provide biblical solutions to everyday needs.
Partnership and Prayer in Ministry
We are dependant on prayer support for our ministry as well as asking for prayer for the Persecuted Church. We send out Prayer Guides, provide prayer information on our website, and include country profiles with prayer points so that our supporters can know what to pray for.
How We Set Limits
The determining factor for Open Doors' involvement anywhere in the world is the presence of a Persecuted Church. We stand alongside when the Body of Christ has run into problems because of its own identity.
To quote Brother Andrew, "We have voluntarily limited ourselves to the ends of the Persecuted Church - we have chosen for the Body of Christ."
We go where others do not go, and do what other do not do. Ours is not a competitive vision. If others are doing the job, we leave it to them. We want to concentrate our limited resources on the parts of the world most in need.
We Serve Worldwide
Wherever Christians suffer for their faith, we stand beside them, in prayer and provision of Bible-based materials.
