Advocacy
Use your freedom and your voice to speak up on behalf of Christians who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus.Stand with us and use your voice to influence those with political power, to bring about positive change for our fellow believers.
You can use your freedom to speak up on behalf of those who are imprisoned, tortured and even killed for following Christ.
Seek justice in the face of injustice, and remember those are not free to believe.
Becoming an advocate for Open Doors 1. Stay informed
Read and understand the plight of the Persecuted Church, so you can speak on their behalf. Sign up for our Frontline Faith Newsletter, and view our current World Watch List.
2. Take action
Get involved in our advocacy campaigns such as...
Free to Believe - Late last year we raised awareness around Australia (and the world) of the United Nations Resolution known as the 'Defamation of Religions Resolution'. Over 420,000 people signed the petition around the world, and since then the Resolution has been changed, to more closely align with Human Rights articles. Read more.
Nigeria - Last year we asked for justice on behalf of Christians in Nigeria who have been victims of horrific attacks in January and March. We wrote to the Nigerian High Commissioner, Prof. Sunday Oluwadare Agbi, to express our concerns about the violence.
3. Pray
Once you have read about particular situations and campaigned for persecuted Christians, remember to keep praying for them, that God would work through your advocacy actions.
