The Christians in South Sudan were the happiest and most friendly people I've ever met. God has blessed them with qualities of love, laughter and happiness, qualities that don't come from wealth or the absense of trials. The Christians of South Sudan showed me how  to love one another to be truly happy in our faith and to love God in all circumstances. I have never met more dedicated and happy Christians. Their smiles, laughter and kindness will be remembered by me for the rest of my life.

Stepping into Christianity where the 'word' became flesh, as they voiced it and lived it.
Where the 'word' was hungrily eaten up as we spoke it.
Where requests for 'prayer' are faithfully spoken out before requests for clean water or food for a child.
Where we could smell, feel, hear and see the beatitudes breathing through the steadfast trust and hope of our beautiful and amazing brothers and sisters in Christ of the Persecuted Church in Ethiopia.
My first-time trip of 2 weeks was an incredible experience of prayer and continued revelations of the enormous, furious and deep love God has for His people. The 'thankfulness' for us physically being there for our persecuted family was hugely humbling.
Money cannot buy encouragement and love.

We met in very hot and sticky circumstances, yet it was a privilege to take part in ongoing training and mentoring programs, especially encouraging these women living in a culture where they are treated with no regard.

Going to Egypt with Open Doors was a life-changing experience. I came back a different person; a person with a heart for the lost, broken and poor; a person who could make a difference; a person ready to step out of the boat and play my part.

Visiting the church in Ethiopia was a humbling experience. I had my eyes opened to what God was doing. Many of the Christians I met were towers of faith, spreading God's love courageously despite hardship and opposition.
