Our Vision and Charter of Christian Human Rights

We believe that all doors are open and that God enables His Body to go into all the world and preach the Gospel.

We therefore define our ministry as follows:

  • Strengthening the Body of Christ living under restriction or persecution by providing and delivering Bibles, materials, training and other helps, and encouraging the Body to become involved in world evangelism.

  • Training and encouraging the Body of Christ in threatened or unstable areas, preparing believers to face persecution and suffering, and equipping them to maintain a witness to the Gospel of Christ.

  • Motivating, mobilising and educating the Church in the free world to identify with and become more involved in assisting the Persecuted Church, with the belief that "when one member suffers, all members suffer with it" (1 Corinthians 12:26).

Our Charter of Human Rights declares

  • Every person in the world has the right to hear the Gospel

  • Everyone who suffers for their Faith in Jesus has the right to expect assistance from other parts of the Body of Christ.

  • All Christians living in free countries have a right to know how their brothers and sisters are doing under persecution.

These Guidelines maintain the effectiveness of Open Doors' ministry

Taking the Word

Sanctify them in Truth; Your Word is Truth. -John 17:17.

Many Christians living in restricted and unstable areas of the world have never owned their personal copy of the Bible. We believe in the life-changing character of the Word and seek to meet this need.

Sharing the Word

Synonymous with the shortage of the Bible is the lack of knowledge about biblical teaching and principles. We believe in leadership training from Christ-centred study material to equip leaders and provide biblical solutions to everyday needs.

Partnership in Prayer and Ministry

We are dependent on prayer support for our ministry as well as asking for prayer for the Persecuted Church. Please contact our local office near you for information on Open Doors Prayer Ministry and how we can serve your church.

How We Set Limits

The determining factor for Open Doors involvement anywhere in the world is the presence of a Persecuted Church. We stand alongside when the Body of Christ has run into problems because of its own identity.

To quote Brother Andrew, "We have voluntarily limited ourselves to the needs of the Persecuted Church - we have chosen for the Body of Christ."

We go where others do not go, and do what others do not do. Ours is not a competitive vision. If others are doing the job, we leave it to them. We want to concentrate our limited resources on the most needy parts of the world.

We Serve Worldwide

Wherever Christians suffer for their faith, we stand beside them, in prayer and provision of Bible-based materials.
