Central Asia | Nine Men Arrested For Sharing Jesus

Nine Christian brothers were arrested in Central Asia for sharing the gospel in a remote Islamic village.

Policemen locked them in a cell, took away their documents and phones and questioned them over a few days. At one stage they were faced with being deported and being banned from returning for several years.

Later a decision was made to release all of them, leaving them with a large fine of $900 USD. In this country, this is equivalent to more than half a year’s average wage.

“In spite of that fine, that is the answer to our prayers, brothers and sisters! The outcome of the situation could be much worse, but God turned everything for the better.” – An Open Doors Local Partner

This is just one example of the challenges that Christians face for sharing the gospel in Central Asia. Yet despite this, believers still want the lost to know Jesus.

Sharing The Gospel Through Honey

Another of our local partners, Silvan*, runs a Bee-Farm in Central Asia. Its purpose is to advance the gospel through selling honey in Islamic villages.

Please Pray:

  • Praise God that these Christians brothers were released and can return to their families.
  • Pray that believers in Central Asia will continue sharing the gospel, no matter the cost.
  • Pray for doors to open for the gospel to go out in Central Asia.
