Christians in Nigeria continue to suffer extreme persecution.

From 21-24 June a group of Islamic extremist Fulani herdsmen, raided Christian villages - setting fire to homes and churches. At least 200 Christians were killed over four days.

Women and children are especially vulnerable and a dusk-to-dawn curfew has been put in place. Our partners tell us that the violence continues.

In 2018 alone, Fulani herdsmen have targeted and killed more than 600 Christians in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region.

Persecution Is Increasing

Each day new reports surface of Christians being attacked. In many areas governed by Islamic law, Christians are denied or are the last to receive community services and relief, including food and medical care.

These difficult living conditions are putting increased pressure on new believers to return to Islam. But despite the danger, many are continuing to commit their lives to Christ.

Please Pray:

  • Pray for the victims' families and friends, that God will bring them peace in this time.
  • Pray that God will soften these persecutors hearts to turn to Jesus.
  • Pray that God protects these Christian villages from such violent attacks.
