Azerbaijan: Suspicion And Spies.
Even though the constitution states there is freedom of religion, life is hard for Christians in Azerbaijan. There is a lot of distrust amongst believers. Churches are filled with spies. Nobody is willing to admit that they are persecuted. Believers fear what might happen to them as a result of speaking out.

A Declining Church.
Churches are forced to re-register every 7 years. If they don’t, they can’t rent a building or have a bank account. They can be raided or fined and pastors are often arrested and interrogated. Even registered churches struggle. They can’t train their leaders and all their biblical material has to be approved before use. Each year less churches pass registration.

Christian websites are blocked and evangelism is difficult. Even if someone does become a Christian, their family abuses them until they deny their faith. They often also lose their job.

Your help makes a difference for persecuted Christians in Central Asia by:

  • Literature distribution.

  • Prayer support and biblical training.

  • Children’s and women’s ministry.

  • Advocacy and awareness training.

  • Job training and social-economic development projects.

Pray for Azerbaijan

Pray for house church leaders forced to operate without permission. Pray for their protection and boldness to continue sharing the gospel.

Pray people can get access to the word of God, despite all the restrictions around importing and selling Bibles.

Pray for those persecuting Christians in Azerbaijan. Pray they discover the love of God for themselves.
