On 4 November 2025, Xi’an Church of Abundance issued a public call for prayer, urging fellow believers to intercede for Pastor Lian Changnian, Pastor Lian Xuliang, and Preacher Fu Juan.
These three church leaders were once again taken from their homes on 2 November by authorities under renewed allegations of “fraud”. This comes despite the fact that their case was already heard in court on 9 July 2025, and no verdict has yet been issued.
Their initial detention began on 17 August 2022 and lasted over two years. On 12 April 2025, their status was changed to “residential surveillance at a designated location,” allowing them to reunite with their families.
The designated “victim” in the case, Sister Qin Wen, has publicly denied being defrauded and courageously testified in court. As a result, she was detained for 12 days under the accusation of “preaching to minors” and was dismissed from her job at a kindergarten school.
Xi’an Church of Abundance is a house church that has served the Lord for 30 years. It is part of the Xi’an District Fellowship within the China Gospel Fellowship. On 19 August 2022, the church was officially banned by the authorities for operating without government registration.
Please pray:
- Please pray that God protects and strengthens the remaining detained pastors and ministry workers.
- Please pray that their families would be comforted and sustained by the peace of Christ.
- Please pray that the church in China would stand firm in faith and love amid persecution.
- Please pray that justice and truth would prevail, and that the gospel would spread even more.
