Yemen: A “Walking Bible” Imprisoned

“Even when we are caught, we pray the work [ministry] will continue. Ask God to raise up others who will continue sharing His light with the Yemeni people, those living in the dark, they deserve to know Him.” Majed* shared this from his heart when we last contacted him.

In November of 2025, as another crackdown on Christians hit Yemen, Majed boldly shared, “I will also be taken; there were vehicles with agents asking about me only a few days ago. Yes, it is a difficult season that we, as a church, are going through, but we are the children of the King of Kings. Jesus told us that in this world we will have troubles, but He also promised us victory in Him, and this is what keeps us, and myself included, going.”

Majed prepared himself for the day when the authorities would eventually grab him.

“I know it’s coming. In the meantime, I’m trying to memorise as many Bible passages and verses as possible. I want to be a walking Bible, so that wherever I’m taken, I can share about Jesus. May we be mirrors of our Saviour, in the way we speak and act.”

Majed was ready; he was preparing for the moment he would be arrested and taken into custody, along with other brothers that were taken before him.

He now joins the group of Christians that have been abducted.

Yemen is the third most dangerous country to live in as a Christian, let alone serve and witness for Christ.

Knowing Majed is no longer free to roam and serve, we ask you to fervently pray for him. He was a bold and proactive ministry leader that worked hard for the case of Christ in his country. His determination and strength came from his deep roots and trust in His Lord; may he dig into deeper roots with his Saviour in these difficult days.

Please pray:

  • Pray protection and strength for Majed. May he be reminded that he is not alone nor forgotten. Pray God will bring peace to his heart, clarity to his mind, and hope for the future.
  • Pray Majed will be ‘a walking Bible’ as he mentioned. He had been memorising Bible verses and passages to be able to use them to share the gospel. Pray he is able to do so boldly and wisely. May he be the mirror of his Saviour, just as he wanted.
  • Pray for the friends and families of those imprisoned, pray for peace, and for hope.
  • Pray for Yemen. May this hardship become an opportunity for Yemeni peoples’ eyes to be opened to the Truth and their hearts opened to receive Christ.
  • Pray for the release and just treatment to all Christians imprisoned in Yemen today.
  • Majed’s ministry was very impactful; pray this is only a short absence and that he will be set free soon, without any harm, to be able to continue the work of God in his beloved Yemen.

HELP KEEP
FAITH ALIVE

In the world’s most dangerous places to be a Christian, believers are crushed on all sides. Violence, hostility, and death plague those who dare to follow Jesus.

Faith shouldn’t be possible—but God is doing the impossible, and the persecuted Church lives on.
